If you are privately insured with obstetric cover on your private insurance and you are wanting to deliver your baby in Melbourne, the out of pocket obstetric fees are not covered by your private health fund. However, some of the out of pocket fees may be partially claimed by a Medicare rebate (for patients with valid Medicare card).
