We offer two maternity programs that are tailored to the needs of each patient. Details of each program are outlined below.
Maternity One Program
Here at Dr Guy Skinner, we are proud to offer women across Melbourne different maternity programs designed to suit everyone and their unique pregnancy. With premium facilities including in room ultrasound machines, extensive knowledge and years of experience, Dr Guy Skinner and his Maternity One program is the ideal choice for you.
Our Maternity One program is often the best option for first time mothers and is also our recommendation for people who are classified as having a “high risk” pregnancy, have health issues or have experienced pregnancy complications in the past.
During our Maternity One program, patients will have an initial visit with Dr Guy Skinner and then scheduled visits every 4 weeks until you reach the 30-week mark. Following this your visits will be every 2 weeks, then from 36 weeks every week until birth.
Not only does Dr Guy Skinner’s Maternity One program offer all the care you need before the birth but also postnatal visits which will be 6 weeks after birth. With experience you can trust and friendly medical staff who are here to help, we guarantee our Maternity One program will help you.
Maternity Plus Program
Here at Dr Guy Skinner, our maternity plus program is designed to help you through your entire pregnancy journey and in the months that follow.
Offering, world class services, including ultrasound and advice from our friendly staff who have years of experience, our Maternity Plus program is the perfect choice for you.
Our Maternity Plus program is most suited to women who have never experienced pregnancy complications and are classified as a “low risk “or first-time mothers who choose this option.
During the Maternity Plus program you will have your first appointment with Dr Skinner and then scheduled visits every 4 weeks with our private practice midwives. At your milestone visit at the 20-22 week routine and the 30 week mark, your Maternity Plus program visits will be with Dr Skinner.
After your 30-week visit your, Maternity Plus program visits will be scheduled every 2 weeks with your private practice midwife until 38 weeks when you will see Dr Skinner again and then every visit after 40 weeks gestation until you are ready for the birth of your baby. Dr Skinner provides all care at birth and during your stay in hospital. Once your baby has arrived, our maternity plus program also offers postnatal care appointment at 6 weeks after delivery with Dr Skinner.
Being based at this hospital allows him speedy access to speciality resources and allows him to provide all his patients with the highest level of medical care.
