To be eligible for a partial Medicare rebate you must provide a valid referral at your first visit. A referral from your GP will be valid for 12 months, a referral from a specialist will be valid for 3 months. The referral must be dated prior to or on the day of your first visit and still be valid.

As a maternity patient of Dr Guy Skinner’s you have a choice of two private hospitals for your birth. St Vincent’s Private Hospital in Fitzroy. And Epworth Freemason’s Hospital in East Melbourne. Each hospital offers world-class medical and obstetrics technologies and exceptional birth facilities.
Guy is a consultant obstetrician and gynaecologist to both institutions, and has taught and mentored many of the permanent staff at both hospitals. We can confidently say you’ll be very well looked after whichever hospital you choose. We recommend you have a look at both St Vincent’s and Freemason’s to see which hospital suits your needs or your location best.
Once you have decided which hospital you prefer, please advise our staff so they can make your hospital booking. We do recommend doing this as early as possible, as availability may sometimes be limited.We are happy to assist you with any questions you may have about booking a room or birthing suite at either hospital.
