TO THE NEEDS OF EACH PATIENT. DETAILS OF EACH PROGRAM
ARE OUTLINED BELOW.
This program is sometimes the best option for first time mothers, and is recommended for ‘high risk’ pregnancy, have health concerns, or have had complicated pregnancies in the past. Following your first visit with Dr Skinner you will be seen by him every 4 – 5 weeks until 30 weeks and then every 2 – 3 weeks until 38 weeks. Weekly visits will be required thereafter.
Dr Skinner provides all care in birth and your stay in hospital
thereafter. The postnatal visit will be 6 -8 weeks after delivery.
This program is mostly suited to patients who have previously had uncomplicated pregnancies and are low risk’ or first time mothers who choose this option.
Following your first visit with Dr Skinner, you will be seen every 4-5 weeks by our Private Practice Midwife. Milestone visits at 20-22 weeks and 30 weeks will be with Dr Skinner.
After 30 weeks you will continue to see our Private Practice Midwife every 2-3 weeks. Your next visit with Dr Skinner will be at 38 weeks. Weekly visits will be required after 38 weeks and these will be scheduled with our Midwife until 40 weeks. Dr Skinner will see all patients over 40 weeks gestation.GET IN TOUCH

Taking time to consider all the health issues that may concern you before approaching conception will put you and your future child in the best possible position for a healthy outcome. Many women wish to discuss fertility issues, genetic risks or concurrent medical problems and the likely impact they will make on the pregnancy. Please bring to the appointment a list of all your active concerns and any medical results. Further detailed questioning from myself will help us to plan ahead to mitigate problems.
Information covered includes fertility advice and management, early pregnancy assessment, review of health and medication, lifestyle issues, diet and weight management.Risk assessment and genetic counselling will also be covered as required. Many new tests are available to assess the health of your future child, but only some may suit your circumstances.

His rooms are ideally located in the body of a tertiary private hospital with all other medical specialties ensuring patients have access to the best available care in any circumstances.
With two maternity models of care available to suit our patient’s needs, our senior midwives are deeply involved in providing service and care to all patients and keeping them well informed throughout the stages of their pregnancy.
Dr Skinner has immense experience in all modalities of birth having delivered in excess of 10,000 babies in private and public hospitals and worked in multiple countries around the world. Having worked as a Senior Consultant at The Royal Women’s Hospital for many years both managing and teaching of high risk pregnancies to junior doctors has seen him develop a special interest and expertise in the field.
Dr Skinner has had years of experience managing gynaecological issues following on from his years as a Senior Consultant at The Royal Women’s Hospital. Dr Skinner deals readily with such issues as menstrual disturbances, polycystic ovaries, endometriosis and infertility including recurrent miscarriage. Having studied in England and France, completing a further degree in Laparoscopic surgery, Dr Skinner is a highly valued surgeon for all complex and minimal invasive surgery.
